City Serve: Serving Those Who Serve
In every city, there are men and women who show up daily to protect, educate, and defend us. Whether in a classroom, a patrol car, a firetruck, or a military uniform—these individuals carry immense responsibility on their shoulders. They give so much of themselves, often without expecting anything in return.
At City Serve, we believe it’s time they receive the support they so richly deserve.
Our Mission
City Serve is a nonprofit organization committed to serving front-line heroes—including Police Officers, Firefighters, Teachers, and members of the National Guard. Our mission is clear and unwavering: To serve those who serve. We exist to come alongside these dedicated professionals and show them the same kind of selfless support they offer others every single day.
Why We Exist
The men and women we serve face high-stress environments, long hours, and unique emotional and physical challenges. Many of them do so quietly and faithfully, with little public recognition. City Serve steps into that gap, acting as a bridge between grateful communities and those who protect and strengthen them.
We believe that by uplifting and encouraging these public servants, we’re also investing in the long-term health and resilience of our communities.
Who We Serve
City Serve proudly supports:
Law Enforcement Officers – by hosting appreciation meals, delivering care packages, and providing mental wellness resources for officers and their families.
Firefighters – through station visits, thank-you initiatives, and practical support to fire crews who respond to crises at a moment’s notice.
Teachers and Educators – with classroom supply drives, teacher appreciation events, and year-round encouragement to those shaping the next generation.
National Guard Members – by providing care for deployed troops and their families, supporting return-home celebrations, and helping meet emergency needs.
What We Do
Our programs are designed to meet real needs while reminding front-line workers that they are not forgotten:
Appreciation Events: Coordinated lunches, dinners, or gift distributions at schools, fire stations, police departments, and armories.
Supply Drives: Classroom kits for teachers, hygiene packs for National Guard soldiers, or special care packages for police and fire departments.
Emergency Relief: When crises strike—whether a line-of-duty injury, disaster deployment, or school tragedy—we respond with tangible aid and presence.
Community Partnerships: We collaborate with local businesses, churches, civic groups, and volunteers to expand our impact and deepen our reach.
Advocacy and Awareness: We champion the role of public servants in society and build understanding of the challenges they face.
How You Can Help
City Serve’s mission only works because people like you care. Here are just a few ways you can get involved:
Volunteer your time to help with service events or support logistics behind the scenes.
Donate to support ongoing projects or sponsor a specific appreciation initiative.
Partner with us as a business or church to bring resources and encouragement directly to front-line workers in your area.
Spread the word and share our mission on social media or in your community.
Our Impact
City Serve has already touched hundreds of lives across central Iowa. Whether through teacher breakfasts during back-to-school season, Christmas deliveries for fire stations, or care packages sent to deployed National Guard units—our efforts have made a difference. But we’re just getting started.
With your support, we can expand our reach, deepen our programs, and stand beside even more of the everyday heroes who stand for us.
Join Us
Now more than ever, front-line workers need to know that their service matters—that their sacrifices are seen, and their efforts appreciated. At City Serve, we’re building a culture of honor, gratitude, and care—one hero at a time.
